Following the success of 2009's Sherlock Holmes, fans who enjoyed that interpretation of the world-famous detective were hopeful that Guy Ritchie and company would create a satisfying sequel. With Ritchie back in the director's chair, he brought the same magic for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The sequel focuses on Sherlock and his partner, Dr. John Watson, confronting the nefarious Professor Moriarty, who is considered Sherlock's most intelligent nemesis.

Although some fans prefer the first, A Game of Shadows is still a worthy sequel that other fans argue is better. A Game of Shadows has banter-filled dialogue shared between Sherlock and Watson, which is delivered extraordinarily by stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. When Daniel Craig's James Bond films were still maintaining popularity, Guy Ritchie tried his hand at the spy genre in 2015 with The Man From U.N.C.L.E., which was based on a 1960s TV show. Starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. follows CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin during the height of the Cold War. When a criminal organization acquires nuclear weapons and technology, Napoleon and Illya are forced to put aside their differences and work together to stop a nuclear attack.

While maintaining its dramatic stakes, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. still makes for amusing entertainment thanks to its early 1960s style, as well as its slick direction and writing by Ritchie. The film also gets pretty uproarious, with Napoleon and Illya making for a dysfunctional duo that always try to outperform one another. Their on-screen chemistry is magnetic, as are their scenes with co-star Alicia Vikander as female companion Gaby. Scenes like Napoleon and Illya's bathroom brawl and the former character enjoying a picnic meal while a gunfight is happening are some of the film's most comical moments. Sadly, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. underperformed at the box office, meaning another adventure with these characters seems unlikely.

Snatch is split into two storylines. One involves a gangster, Frankie Four Fingers, attempting to sell a stolen diamond, but various criminals want to try and steal it. The other revolves around a promoter named Turkish trying to persuade his new boxer, Mickey, to throw his fights, but he refuses to cooperate.

Like the film that came before, Snatch is another Guy Ritchie project involving eccentric and fast-talking characters whose separate stories overlap with one another. Every viewer has their preference about which storyline is more fun to watch, but there is no denying how intricately constructed the screenplay is. The banter is fast-paced yet satisfying, while the scenarios get more chaotically fun the longer the film goes on, with each actor getting a chance to shine. Out of everyone, however, Brad Pitt as Mickey O'Neal is the clear standout because of his physicality, offbeat personality, and indecipherable Irish accent that leaves the other characters bewildered.
